Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is a 2015 Pakistani adventure and comedy film directed by Nadeem Beyg and co-produced by Humayun Saeed, Salman Iqbal, Shahzad Nasib. The movie was produced by Humayun Saeed's production house, Six Sigma Plus. The film stars Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Mehwish Hayat and Sohai Ali Abro. The supporting cast includes Javed Sheikh, Ismail Tara, Bushra Ansari, Ayesha Khan, Sarwat Gillani and Uzma Khan. The plot revolves around the story of a single divorce lawyer who takes his three married friends on a trip to help them escape their wives.
The film was released worldwide on 25, September 2015 in India, Middle East, South Africa, Australia and Europe. It took the title as the biggest opening Pakistani film of all time with the movie being released on 80 screens domestically.
It received mixed reviews from critics but ended up being a runaway success at the box office by grossing over ₨ 49 crores, making it the highest grossing Pakistani film in the world. Previously, this title had been held by the 2013 action-thriller, Waar
Film Story:
Three childhood friends, Saif (Hamza Ali Abbasi), Sheikh (Vasay Chaudhry) and Pervez (Ahmad Ali Butt), have settled down in marriage life but are afraid of their wives. Their friend Sherry (Humayun Saeed), a divorce lawyer, returns to Pakistan from U.S. to meet them, and finds that all his friends are in miserable marriages. Sherry decides to take his friends on a guys trip to Bangkok to add excitement to their lives.
In Bangkok, Sherry meets a girl named Marina (Mehwish Hayat), a daughter of a crime boss named Bichi Don (Ismail Tara), who falls in love with him. When Sherry learns about her father's occupation, he decides to cut their trip short to get away from Marina. Shortly after, the men get busted for their secret getaway when the trio's wives show up in Bangkok to pay them a visit at the hotel they were staying at.
Sherry places the blame on his friends by telling their wives that the trip was their idea and not his. This results in all three wives demanding a divorce since they could no longer trust their husbands.
A few months go by and the three friends come across the news that Sherry is getting married to Zoya (Sohai Ali Abro), daughter of Mehboob Khan (Javed Sheikh), a billionaire in Lahore. Zoya is the quintessential nouveau riche kid, who insists on speaking in with a strong American English accent and abbreviates expressions like OMG (oh my God) and MA ( Masha'Allah). She enjoys spending her father's money carelessly while her mother (Bushra Ansari), worries about her daughter's attitude.
When the three friends arrive at Sherry's wedding, he asks them not to tell Zoya and her family about Marina. So when Bichi Don arrives as an Arabic speaking person named Ya Sheikh as a guest of his soon-to-be father-in-law, Mehboob Khan, Sherry tells everyone that his friend Saif's nickname is also Sherry. This way, neither Mehboob Khan nor Ya Sheikh could know which Sherry was being brought up during any incriminating conversations.
Just two days prior to Sherry and Zoya's wedding, Marina arrives in Lahore. Sherry decides to play another trick on Ya Sheikh. Sherry wants Ya Sheikh to reject him as a potential son-in-law, so he pretends to be a homosexual. Just as he expected, Ya Sheikh rejects Sherry, saying, "He acts gay after 12 AM" and leaves Lahore. Sherry and his three friends feel relieved after resolving the situation, but get shocked when Ya Sheikh and Marina come back to Lahore on the day of the wedding. Mehboob Khan and Ya Sheikh starts fighting over Sherry where the argument results in both men rejecting Sherry as a potential son-in-law.
The story ends when the three friends patch things up with their wives and Sherry asks for Marina's hand in marriage.
